This week, Career Builder announced its top 15 unusual resume stories, based on a survey of Human Resources professionals at over 2,600 companies. A link to the story is here. Not surprisingly, a wage and hour issue was included in the mix. Specifically, one of the stories that made the top 15 list was an applicant who insisted that the company pay him for his time spent interviewing because “his time was so valuable.” Other incidents which made the list include a candidate who listed a dog as a reference, and one who listed an email address which had “shakinmybootie” in it. Great article.
By the way, just in case you are wondering- No, you don’t have any legal obligation to pay an applicant for the time spent in an interview.
